Fitness – PYM is a movement-based, total body workout which includes new, unconventional swim strokes and the perfection of alignment through surface-tension balancing tailored to your particular body. Not only aquatic, warm-ups work connective ligaments and tendons to improve strength and stability from the bone structure out. Movement progressions graduate from simple micro-movements and follow evolutionary patterns from singular to limbed to homo sapient and back to elemental.
Mind/Body – Primordial yogic Movement expands body awareness, trains us to think through the body, and typically transforms how we think about ourselves and the world around us. This is done first as a perceptual practice by encouraging sensation recognition. Secondly, by focusing attention on opening heart and mind to explore how we think organically. How the neo-cortex compares, analyzes, and makes neural connections to create understanding. How peptides of emotion predispose us to seek certain outcomes based on our emotions. And how to expand ourselves beyond who we think we are to develop more spacious, confident perspectives from sensing more connection to the earth and live more skillfully as a result.
Spirit – It is a given that every adult harbors a particular way of thinking about their personal God or gods. The degree to which beliefs are held will vary and we all have individual differing approaches to all things spiritual or, in some cases, the mysterious and elusive. If you fervently do not believe in evolution and change, adaptability or the plasticity of the world: and everything is prescribed and/or conspiratorially planned by higher powers for you, then PYM will do nothing except exercise your body. However, if you are willing and open to learning, then Primordial yogic Movement will inform you that you are not alone, that you are connected to a long lineage of different creatures, that every part of you is connected to the history of the earth and it is a marvel to contemplate. Going beyond knowledge will also require an inside out approach to sense through the body as the mind opens to its own evolution, and possibly to where your divine spirit resides.
